Take a walk in Ipoh and you will come across Concubine Lane located off Jalan Bandar Timah(Leech Street). This narrow and uneven pathway is actually called Lorong Panglima believe to have existed since 1908. The houses in the area is said to belong to rich Chinese magnates and British officers who housed their concubines at.

This museum is a gallery dedicated to the inspiring life of Dr.Ho Kai Cheong who created the Ho Yan Hor tea known for its the famous household brand of Chinese herbal tea since 1940s.

Fondly known to all Ipohites as Tong Sui Kai (糖水街), it is one of the most happening dessert corners in Ipoh after the sunsets. The street is lined with dozen of food stalls mostly selling various desserts and snacks. Most of the people who come visiting here would not go back without indulging the Ipoh’s famed mixed fruits ABC.

Han Chin Pet Soo is also known as Han Chin Villa and it is Ipoh’s latest attractions. It is a museum located win the beautifully restored Hakka Miners’ Club, which used to be a prostitution, gambling, opium smoking and triad den. The exhibits in the museum gives insightful information on the Hakka community and the tin mining industry.

Book lovers and photoholics can smile widely now that the affordable bookstore, BookXcessis now in Ipoh. Book Xcess Kong Heng is located within the Kong Heng Square, which was once Ipoh’s busiest banks. The building has now been renovated into a space for readers and photographers alike.

The famous Ipoh Railway Station was designed by the late Arthur Benison Hubback and it was opened in 1917. Affectionately known as the Taj Mahal of ipoh among the locals, the building also houses the Majestic Hotel. This railway station has become one of the more favoured mode of transportation by locals and visitors alike as it serves as the main railway terminal.

This is the place to be for bargain hunters who can’t resist a good, cheap find. Located right in the town centre, it bustles with energy nightly, attracting a never-ending flow of shoppers out for a good fun night-out.

The clock tower stands magnificent infront of the Ipoh State Mosque. It struck its first chime in 1909 and is known to have one mother bell weighing 1,000 lbs with four smaller bells weighing a total of 1,000 lbs. The clock tower is a historical and important landmark in Ipoh that attracts tourists who will never leave without getting a snapshot with it first.

On your next visit to Ipoh, keep a lookout for the wall of the Ho Yan Nor Museum at Jalan Bijeh Timah. There you will find the Evolution Mural painted by Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic. His work was commissioned by Old Town White Coffee for its Art of Old Town Campaign.

Gunung Lang is a recreational Park located off Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. It covers an area of 30.35 hectares covering a lake and the park. Opened to the public in 2000, it is a favourite weekend retreat for families and visitors alike.
